The beautiful Melissa’s stunning maternity session. Can’t wait to meet Mr. Aaron!!

Selecting clothing for your session, part two, and this time its all about your little guy. Again, working with layers and subtle pattern I’ve put together a casual but trendy look, from experience little boys don’t want to get dressed up and stand around, they want to play, and this outfit certainly reflects that. Layer a lightly patterned oxford with a knit vest and a nice warm (and adorable!) jacket with a cool wooly collar. Add jeans and some converse sneaks and you have the perfect outfit for romping around outside and being a boy. This look was mostly pulled again from GAP, except for the blue vest which is from The Children’s Place.

Alternatively, I’d love to see the jeans and sneakers with a white tee and blazer and maybe a loose tie in some shots for a bit of punch. The options are endless, and in individual portraits I love when the outfit has an unexpected quirk!
Boys are also adorable to dress in button up shirts, layered with a crisp sweater. Again keeping with the layers and textures to bring out the cuteness of your boy!

Probably the single most asked question a photographer hears! In an attempt to make it a little easier to decide for your upcoming holiday portraits, I will be posting some helpful outfit tips and suggestions!
Of course, you can’t go wrong with solids, something simple - but its always fun to liven things up a bit. Clothing is a big way to inject personality into your portraits.
First, let’s start simple. Dressing for one. I am a big fan of textures, layers and color, and this look combines all three - and bonus, once we get moving around and your little one gets warm, we have a layer to take off and create a refreshed look. Pair a simple colorful shirt with a ruffled cardigan, denim skirt and some crazy tights for a bit of fun. Finish off the look with a neutral boot, and a pop of color in the hair and viola - a modern, memorable, and fun look for your little princess! These pieces are from The Children’s Place fall line.

OR…keeping with the textures and layers, but but tones down the brights and is more warm and earthy is this combination found at The GAP, and the boots are CROCS.

Another adorable idea that’s in fashion this season is the sweater dress, tights and boots. This is a cute and holiday festive one found at Hannah Andersson
